With great power comes great responsibility… With all respect to Spiderman, you don’t need to be a superhero to make the world a better place, as we at Imperial Advance have learned over the past several years through our Corporate Giving Initiative. Together with our partner companies, we have made philanthropy a central pillar of our corporate culture. The employees that make up our team exemplify the values of giving back, not just in the workplace, but beyond, and we wanted to unite our company behind a common cause.
It is this commitment that led us to discover Unbound and Brian, a young man we sponsor. Brian likes soccer and wants to become a teacher when he grows up, a dream not unlike many of our youth here in the United States. But extreme poverty is a daily struggle for Brian and his community. The sad reality is that food, clean water and basic healthcare are luxuries in much of the developing world.
For our company, which specializes in small business lending solutions, the tragic level of deprivation and desperation in the Third World puts into the proper perspective where we must also place our philanthropic priorities, individually and collectively.
As we all learned more about the daily struggles in sub-Saharan Africa, we instinctively knew that we needed to give back and give thanks for the many blessings we very much take for granted in America, which is why we chose Unbound.
Unbound is an international nonprofit bringing people together to challenge poverty in new and innovative ways. Unbound delivers financial assistance to people in 19 countries. Sponsorship directly benefits an individual and helps pay for education, skills training and livelihood programs.
A model of non-profit fundraising efficiency, 92.6 percent Unbound’s total expenses are spent on the programs and services it delivers. Unbound received a four-star rating and 92 percent score from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most popular evaluator of charities. Unbound meets the BBB Wise Giving Alliance’s Standards for Charity Accountability. Finally, Unbound is the only child sponsorship organization to receive CharityWatch’s highest rating, an A+.
It is an honor and privilege to support this worthy organization and we want to wish continued success to Brian on his journey! The Imperial Advance team is with you!
